Installation

Preparation

The following section describes the installation of the OTF and the necessary components of the installation.

Important: Please check the system requirements!

Note: The usage of the latest version is recommended!

Note: Rights for installation software (e.g. administrator rights) must be available!

Note: Set the font size of Windows to 100% is recommended!

Download

The software can be downloaded from the following locations. For the download an user account is necessary, see Licensing.

  1. License Portal
    Contains the latest released version.
  2. Issue Tracking System
    Contains all versions including hotfix and beta versions.

Important: Don't mix 32 bit and 64 bit! The architecture of all software components must be the same, either 32-bit or 64-bit. Mixing architectures is not possible. For example, a 64-bit OTF also requires a 64-bit diagnostic runtime system and a 64-bit D-PDU API.

Installation

Note: The OpenTestFramework requires .NET Framework 4.8 or higher installed on your system.

Note: If you want to install the included MVCI server, you must install the following Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable:
- Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable 2013 (32/64-bit) for the usage of ProdisMcd (32/64-bit)
- Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable 2015 or higher (32/64-bit) for the usage inside OpenTestFramework (32/64-bit)

Note: The order of the installers is not important. However, we recommend following the order below, as the installer will then make the correct settings. Please ensure any opened OTF instance is closed during the installation process.

Please install the OTF as follows:

  1. Download the latest versions of all necessary installers from our website, see Download above
  2. If needed, execute the PDU-Simulation installer
    SimulationDPduApiMsi_WinXX_X.X.X.XXXXX.msi
  3. If needed, execute a diagnostic runtime system (a system restart is required)
    SetupProdisMcdMsi_WinXX_X.XX.X.msi
  4. If needed, execute the HTML-Screens installer
    OtxHtmlScreens_WinXX_X.X.X.XXXXX.msi
  5. Execute the OTF installer
    OpenTestFrameworkSetup_WinXX_X.X.X.XXXXX.msi
  6. Start the OTF
  7. Activate the OTF, see Activation
  8. Familiarize yourself with the OTF, see First Steps section

Important: Do not mix 32 bit and 64 bit versions! All installers shall have the same architecture.

MVCI-Server Troubleshooting

if the diagnostic communication does not work as expected, please check the following topics:

  1. Check the Runtime Environment Settings
    Check the filenames and folders. There should be no red icon. If there is a red icon, follow the recommendation inside the tool tip.
  2. Check the DiagCom (ODX Diagnostic Data) settings
    Inside the ComboBox Project the installed ODX databases should be available. If not, then no ODX database exists or the Runtime Environment Settings are wrong.
